Report Management Facility (RMF) is a fully automated spoolfile dissection, distribution and archiving facility for the AS/400.

As soon as a report is placed on nominated output queues, RMF determines whether it is to be distributed, logged and/or archived.
For distributions, the report is processed and ranges of pages are distributed to individual users or groups of users.  These distributions can also be sent via the KeyesFax System.
You define the distribution criteria for each report by specifying the location of constant values on report pages.  For each of these constant values, you may nominate to send the matching pages to either:

  • One or more specific users
  • A predefined list of users
  • Both of the above
You can also specify, for each distribution, to:
  • Route to another output queue
  • Hold/Save the spoolfile
  • Change the number of copies
  • Set user identification or fax number
Each recipient will be notified via an AS/400 message containing the report description, its location and the number of pages received.  And importantly, full security and ownership over each distribution is maintained.
The original report may be deleted, held, saved or placed on another output queue.

Reports may simply be logged for the purposes of recording statistics.

In addition, they may be archived to disk in either a compressed format for subsequent archiving to tape or PDF format. This not only saves disk space but enables easy retrieval of the spoolfile in its original format.
For Tape archiving, the spoolfiles are stored in spoolfile receivers which may be kept online or offline.  All this is controlled by the simple to use receiver management function.
For PDF archiving the spoolfiles are converted an stored onto your file server using a directory and naming structure that enables simple searching using Windows Explorer.
