You may scan backward or forward through the file, scanning for records with a particular value in one or more fields shown on the current multiple record display window.
You simply enter the value to search for above the field(s) to be searched, and what sort of match you are looking for; equal, not equal, less than or greater than.
If multiple fields are being searched, NAVIDATA defaults to AND conditioning. That is, ALL values entered must be matched before a record is selected. You may override the search to OR conditioning. That is, if ANY value entered matches, the record is selected.
You may then scan the records backward, forward, or forward grouping multiple matching records on a single screen. All matching records are displayed in high intensity.
In addition to scanning for specific values, you may also scan numeric fields for invalid characters (non-numeric), which will cause problems in some programs. In some cases, data from outside sources may have spaces (blanks) in these fields, instead of zeroes. These are very easy to find and fix using NAVIDATA.
